Is My Wood Product Food Safe?

Absolutely, all food serving items are seasoned with a blend of FDA Approved Food Safe Mineral Oil & Organic Beeswax. This includes: all cutting boards, serving trays, charcuterie boards, and cheese cutters. Oil is used to penetrate the wood for several hours, then finished with several coats of the oil / wax blend. This provides a barrier to seal out moisture and juices making for easy clean up.

How do I maintain my wood cutting board, serving tray, charcuterie boards or cheese cutter?

To wash, rinse with water or use a mild dish soap and a sponge if needed. Do not to saturate or soak it in water and never put it in the dish washer.  Wipe thoroughly and air dry.

In time you will see it dull or the water is not beading up. For best results, you can recondition it back to it’s like new appearance by applying a coat of Crane Custom Crafts Board Butter Balm as it has both the oil and wax to seal it. Mineral oil or cutting board oil usually found near the stain section of your local hardware store can be used, however it won’t seal it as well or last as long.  Simply rub on a small amount and let it sit for an hour to soak in. Wipe off and buff with a soft cloth. If in doubt, it’s better to do it more often than not as your not going to hurt it and it will protect it for years to come.
